#10YearChallenge

Have you seen the awesome #10YearChallenge flooding through your social media? Well, we wanted to hop on that trend and give you a 10 year challenge that will SHOCK you, real estate edition.

In January 2012 there were a whopping 12,330 homes for sale in the Denver Metro and surrounding areas compared to how we ended in 2021 with just 960 homes for sale. Can you believe that drop? Less than 1,000 homes for sale in one of the largest areas of Colorado! If you have purchased a home from 2012 to now you will have felt the pressure of the market, which is a side effect from the drop in numbers. Data shows that each year there are less and less homes for sale making the market highly competitive for a seller, constantly getting out bid or not even having the opportunity to put a bid in.

Now, the number of homes for sale have decreased, however the price has done the opposite. In January 202 the average cost  for a home was $274,561 compared to how we ended 2021 at $704,294. WOW! Just WOW! Supply and demand at its finest. The entire 2021 year house prices did not fall under $620,000, we do not believe this trend will end either, with the cost of homes staying within the mid to high $600’s-$700’s.
